Falcon: Designed for Deep Freediving

The Falcon mask is ergonomically and structurally designed specifically for deep freediving.

  • Description

Fogging in silicone-faced masks is one of the most common issues among users, whether they are freedivers, spearfishers, snorkelers, or scuba divers.

In recent years, with the introduction of modern frameless masks—designed to bring the lenses closer to the face—this issue has become even more pronounced. Despite numerous remedies, from chemical defoggers and degreasers to DIY methods like burning the lenses or cleaning them with detergent or toothpaste, no solution has proven to be definitive.

    The C4 Revolution: Anti-Fog Masks

Today, C4 puts an end to this problem by introducing a selection of masks equipped with special films applied to the inside of the lenses. These films prevent fogging in any situation, as long as a few simple usage guidelines are followed.

    • No pre-treatment required: The mask does not need any preparation before first use (such as those mentioned above). Simply rinse it with water before wearing it, avoiding contact with the inside of the lenses.
    • Recommended maintenance: After each dive, rinse the lenses with fresh water and dry them with a clean cloth to maintain the film’s properties.

These innovative masks have been successfully tested by C4 ambassadors over the past nine months, both in the pool and at sea, demonstrating outstanding reliability in all conditions.

Thanks to this innovation, C4 provides a practical and effective solution, ensuring perfect and uncompromised vision for underwater enthusiasts.

    Preventing Lens Contamination

    To maintain the antifog effectiveness:

    • Avoid contact with greasy or oily substances (such as sunscreen, cosmetic or protective oils).
    • Never touch the inner lenses with dirty or dry fingers.
    • Be aware that pool water may leave marks or residues due to dissolved chemicals.

    Managing Temperature Differences

    • Temperature differences between the inside and outside of the mask can cause condensation.
    • To minimize this effect, wet both your face and the mask before use to equalize the temperature.

Common situations where fogging may occur:

    • Warm pool water in very humid environments.
    • Sea dives with warm air and cooler water.

    Cleaning the Inner Lenses

    • Clean the inner lenses before each use.
    • If maintenance is regular and the dirt is minimal, a rinse with fresh water is sufficient.
    • For persistent dirt, perform a preliminary cleaning using:
      • A non-greasy, mild detergent diluted in fresh water (e.g., dish soap — see tutorial video), or
      • A specific cleaning product for masks, such as Absolute Cleaner or Extreme Antifog.
    • The use of other antifog products may be effective, but is not tested nor guaranteed.
    • Alternatively, or in addition, you may use the traditional saliva method: apply a small amount of saliva to the lenses, then rinse thoroughly just before diving.
